Alumni Spotlight: Myah Loberger

Myah graduated from Mount Olive in 2019 and is studying to become a teacher at Martin Luther College.

One of my favorite memories from Mount Olive was playing in the FVL schools basketball tournament, specifically the championship game in the big gym. The atmosphere was super fun and unique, and I loved playing with my teammates and against other students I would attend high school with!

Tell us about a teacher or person who made an impact during your time at Mount Olive.

I appreciated Miss Schone's energy and positivity in our Spanish class. As new students with no Spanish background, my brother and I felt included thanks to her extra support. She never complained despite the added work, and I admire how she engaged the whole class. Now, as I pursue teaching, I hope to bring the same positivity to my future classroom!

What makes MOL special?

Mount Olive is Christ-centered, teaching about Jesus daily, both in and out of the classroom. Students are surrounded by peers and teachers who reflect His love through their words and actions. The supportive teachers stood out to me—they cared about our success, built personal connections, and created a safe, welcoming atmosphere where I always felt comfortable.

What advice would you give to graduating students (seventh or eighth grader) at MOL?

My advice: be kind, get involved, and stay close to Jesus. Kindness makes the transition to high school easier for everyone. Get involved—it goes by fast, and building friendships makes it more meaningful. Most importantly, stay close to Jesus. In times of change, He remains constant. Lean on Him, count your blessings, and give thanks every day!

Alumni Spotlight: Parker Knoll

Parker graduated from Mount Olive in 2017 and is majoring in human physiology and playing baseball at the University of Minnesota.

The first word that comes to mind when thinking about my time at Mount Olive is foundation. Everything we did was Christ-centered, and it helped me build a very strong foundation for my faith.

Favorite Mount Olive Memory?

My favorite Mount Olive memory was winning the A team basketball tournament at FVL my eighth grade year.

What makes MOL special?

What made Mount Olive special for me was the feeling of family. The teachers and pastors were always happy to say hi in the hallways and check in on how you were doing. I really enjoyed learning and growing with my same classmates each year.

Who’s a teacher at Mount Olive you’ll never forget?

One teacher that made an impact during my time at Mount Olive is Mr. Gartner. I had him as my 8th grade teacher and basketball coach. He prepared me well for high school and always found a way to make class fun.

What advice would you give to graduating students (seventh or eight grader) at MOL?

My advice: Enjoy the rest of your time at MOL and your years in high school! It goes by so much faster than you think. Most importantly, keep God close. He has helped me through some challenging times and blessed me greatly since I left Mount Olive, and I’m sure he will do the same for you.
