Alumni Spotlight: Myah Loberger

Myah graduated from Mount Olive in 2019 and is studying to become a teacher at Martin Luther College.

One of my favorite memories from Mount Olive was playing in the FVL schools basketball tournament, specifically the championship game in the big gym. The atmosphere was super fun and unique, and I loved playing with my teammates and against other students I would attend high school with!

I appreciated Miss Schone's energy and positivity in our Spanish class. As new students with no Spanish background, my brother and I felt included thanks to her extra support. She never complained despite the added work, and I admire how she engaged the whole class. Now, as I pursue teaching, I hope to bring the same positivity to my future classroom!

What makes MOL special?

Mount Olive is Christ-centered, teaching about Jesus daily, both in and out of the classroom. Students are surrounded by peers and teachers who reflect His love through their words and actions. The supportive teachers stood out to me—they cared about our success, built personal connections, and created a safe, welcoming atmosphere where I always felt comfortable.

What advice would you give to graduating students (seventh or eight grader) at MOL?

My advice: be kind, get involved, and stay close to Jesus. Kindness makes the transition to high school easier for everyone. Get involved—it goes by fast, and building friendships makes it more meaningful. Most importantly, stay close to Jesus. In times of change, He remains constant. Lean on Him, count your blessings, and give thanks every day!
